Dante is walking guided by Virgil, when a door surmounted by a terrifying writing "Lasciate ogni speranza, voi ch'intrate" appears in front of them: it is the door of Hell and Virgil, in order to give courage to Dante, takes him by the hand and introduces him in the world of eternal darkness.

Patrimoni d'Arte on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the death of the Supreme Poet creates a bronze medal dedicated to him.

The artwork depicts on the front an engraving of Dante's face and the words "DANTE VII CENTENARIO" and on the back a vision of the gates of Hell by Cuban artist Felipe Alarcón. The artist depicts Dante and Virgil about to enter the world of eternal darkness through a large door, topped by Lucifer.
