The Vatican Pity is a marble sculpture (height 174 cm, width 195 cm, depth 69 cm) by Michelangelo Buonarroti, datable to 1497-1499 and housed in St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City, Rome. It is the first masterpiece of the then little more than twenty years old Michelangelo, considered one of the greatest works of art that the West has ever produced. It is also the only work signed by him, on the shoulder band that holds the Virgin's mantle.
Patrimoni d'Arte offers a bronze reproduction by award-winning Spanish sculptor Manuel Rodríguez Vásquez.
