Jesus and the three Marys
The artwork is divided in various sections contained in a stylish steel blue folder. The theme is the link between Jesus and the three Marys – his mother, Maria Magdalena (who was present at the moment of crucifixion) and Mary of Bethany (who lived in the homonym village near Jerusalem). Four lithographies are dedicated to the three Marys, three of which depict each of them with Jesus and one, the first of the collection, depicting all of them together. After each illustration there is an inscription to the woman portrayed: the inscription for the Virgin Mary is from Dante’s Paradise, while the ones for Maria Magdalena and Mary of Bethany are from the Gospel of John.
